Get To Know: Nicole Ray

By Sophia McCellon

Nex+Gen is always welcome to new faces that brighten up the classroom, including teachers. Our newest Griffin facilitator, who started on January 7th, is Nicole Ray, the American studies teacher for the Junior class. Ms. Ray started her career at nex+Gen as a student teacher a while ago and says she is “very excited to be in such a collaborative place” as a full-time teacher now. She says that in her first week here she has really enjoyed herself. All students and staff have been wonderful, and she feels extremely welcomed into the community. It’s been a big change for her, coming from teaching the first and second grade, but she says that it has been an enjoyable process.

But who is Nicole Ray outside out of school? Ms. Ray enjoys playing with her children and hiking when she’s not caught up grading papers of course. She says that she wants to make the world a better place, and this is her “little way of contributing to that”.

Thanks so much to everyone helping Ms. Ray feel welcome, and we’re excited to see her advance her career here at nex+Gen!
