I’ll admit I had Justin in mind for our first Senior Spotlight right from the get-go. He’s part of the Bejcek family legacy (older brother Thomas graduated in 2016) and what could be better than featuring one of the seniors from “the table”. That’s right. The table in the far northeast corner of the Cyber Hall belongs (at least this year) to this group of seniors. That’s just the way it is.

Justin is 17 years old and has attended nex+Gen since his freshman year. When asked what he likes best about our school, he replied, “I like how it’s different–the culture and the way we operate.” I pushed a bit farther and the picture began to emerge: he likes the way we learn here and how facilitators try to make projects fun. He enjoys the group dynamics and how he is able to get know a lot of different people. He says it makes waking up in the morning not nearly as bad as it could be.

Justin is an avid gamer and is currently crushing it on The Lego Game. He also loves watching movies and his favorite-for-now is Captain America: Winter Soldier.

He must really like movies, because he plans to attend UNM next year to study film in the IFDM (Interdisciplinary Film and Digital Media) program, with his eye on an eventual master’s degree. He was quick to add that he likes to be behind the camera, not in front.

Justin not only has a very full schedule of senior classes, but he’s also doing a senior project (a TON of work) with a focus on health and fitness.

nex+Gen wishes you the BEST of luck in your future, Justin!!!
